How do
I ...?
...arrange
a wedding
Congratulations
on your engagement! Getting married in church is the best! Come and make
your marriage vows before God and Family and friends, and
seek God’s blessing
on your future life together. If you would like to be married in one of our
churches, please click here to send an enquiry
to our Parish Office.
- We conduct
weddings in five of our District churches – Christchurch, Waterside;
Emmanuel; St John’s Ashley Green; St George’s, Tylers Hill;
and St Mary’s.
- There are
certain requirements you must meet to be married in one of our churches.
They are a little bit complicated, but overall, you must either live in
Chesham now, worship regularly at one of our churches, or have lived or
had a family connection with Chesham in the past. If in doubt contact us.
- If you’re
getting married here, or live in Chesham and are getting married elsewhere,
you are most welcome to our next marriage Preparation Course. Contact the
Parish Office (01494 783629), or click here to
e-mail, for full details.
- If you need
to organise having ‘your Banns read’ because you live in Chesham
and are getting married elsewhere, please contact the Parish Office (01494
783629), or click here to
e-mail.
...arrange
a Baptism / Christening
Baptism is the
Christian symbol of commitment. It reminds us of God’s amazing commitment
to us, shown supremely when Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins and
greed. It reminds us if God’s call on our lives – to live for
Him, and not for ourselves.
People of all
ages are regularly baptised at our churches, including babies and young children.
If you would like to know more, please contact the Parish Office by clicking
here.

...arrange
a funeral
If you are contacting
us because someone in your family or close to you has died, please accept
our prayerful condolences. The first few hours and days after the death of
a loved one can be numbing and confusing.
- If you haven’t
done so already, you will need to make contact with a local funeral director
and ask them to make the necessary arrangements for you.
- If you would
like to hold a funeral service in one of our churches, or for one of our
staff team to conduct a funeral at a crematorium, please phone the Parish
Office (01494 783629) or click
here.

a Church of England Funeral Service can be found here
